JORDAN ONES: MJ’S RULE BREAKERS

An icon from the ‘80s. A pioneer for sneakerheads. A collection in which MJ himself would be spoilt for choice. A true household style that never gets old. The Air Jordan 1 has changed everything. The revolution started back in 1984 when Peter. B. Moore designed the first ever pair for the mighty Michael Jordan, the star of that Chicago Bulls team.

Plain sailing it was not. Far from it. The Air Jordan 1 epitomized MJ – something nobody had ever quite seen before. At the time, NBA rules meant all players had to wear white sneakers or ones that coordinated with the colors of their teams’ jerseys. MJ didn’t listen. His classic Jordans were a different style in different colors, and the NBA fined him every time he wore them on the court. Rumour has it that Nike paid these fines themselves in an attempt to break the league’s dress code. The result has broken more than that. It’s broken the mold. Every year since that rule was broken a new pair of Jordans has been released - to greater or lesser success but always keeping true to that famous original pair. The Jordan Ones. MJ’s ones.
